- ICJC condemns the
recent wave of senseless violence against innocent civilians in the
Middle East. ICJC joins together with other Muslim organizations,
particularly the Heartland Muslim Council, in repudiating all those who
believe such murderous behavior benefits the faith of Islam or the
Muslim people. We call for the swift apprehension and prosecution of
the perpetrators. We wish to state clearly that those who commit acts
of terror, murder and cruelty in the name of Islam are not only
destroying innocent lives, but are also betraying the values of the
faith they claim to represent. No injustice done to Muslims can ever
justify the massacre of innocent people, and no act of terror will ever
serve the cause of Islam. We repudiate and dissociate ourselves from
any group or individual who commits such brutal and un-Islamic acts. We
refuse to allow our faith to be held hostage by the criminal actions of
a tiny minority acting outside the teachings of both the Quran and the
Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Now we call on Americans of all
faiths to join in opposing those who promote hatred, violence and
bigotry by signing the "Not in the Name of Islam" online petition
posted on the Council on American-Islamic Relations Web site:
www.cair-net.org. So far, more than 500,000 Muslims are signatories to
this petition. June 23rd 2004

- Brothers and Sisters in
Islam -
With emotion and pride ICJC is proud to
announce the finalization of the contract for the permanent Masjid in
Johnson County (closing on January 30th, 2004). As we
celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha festivities we shall also be commemorating
this important milestone in the development of the local Muslim
community. The 4 acre property is located in the heart of JoCo (151st
& Antioch) and includes a house that, with little renovation, will
Inshallah accommodate 200+ worshippers.
The mechanism of the sale meets and
exceeds all Islamic Shariah regulations and should be a matter of pride
for the entire Muslim community. After protracted negotiations
the owner has agreed to sell the property to us on an installment (Bai
Muajjal) basis with an initial payment of $250,000 due end of January
2004 and a final payment of $260,000 due in January 2005. We extend our
congratulations to all the Muslims in the greater KC area who have
contributed to this noble achievement. As we take over the property
early next month we will require your continuous support so that the
Masjid can be opened for prayers soon Inshallah.
Allahu Akbar!

Kansas and Islamic Center of Johnson County have been actively involved
in a consolidation dialogue. Alhamdulillah we are in the process of
